The Freedom of Speech Division of the Southern States
Communication Association is continuing its publication of the
Communication Law Review and is continuing its dedication to
the proposition that freedom of speech is essential to the relevance
of every aspect of the communication discipline.
The original print version of Communication Law
Review featured short articles that contributed to the understanding
of the historical, theoretical, rhetorical and legal aspects of
freedom of expression. As we continue the tradition of Communication
Law Review, we have moved to an electronic format and expanded
the areas of research of interest to include a broader range of
concerns at the intersection of communication and law. While the
primary focus will remain on freedom of expression issues, we also
welcome research that considers such areas as legal communication
education, the study of legal rhetoric, emerging concepts in internet
law, copyright concerns, communication in the practice of law, censorship
issues, private constraints on communication behavior, and related
topics.
